Welcome to my first ever blog - Happy Garden Hens.

I have been keeping hens in my back garden since April 2011 so I'm still a beginner hen keeper myself. The idea of this blog is to share all the information and experience I have gained personally since starting up, in hopefully a simplistic and helpful way.

One of the main things I have found out about keeping chickens is that there is SO much conflicting information out there - whether on the internet, in books or through word of mouth. It can become very confusing - not to mention very scary - especially when trying to diagnose chicken ailments!

If you are new to chicken keeping or about to start out I will be recapping from start to present all my experiences + tips and links to useful resources. You will find your own way of doing things so please just take what helps and suits your set up best.
